Certifications

s Certifications are officially documented permits that sanction gems to do certain functions. The 3 Certification Fields gems can receive Certifications in are Engineering, Operational, and Bureaucratic. In almost all situations if a gem is behaving as expected and doing her Caste-Position job then proof of certification won’t be requested, but if not a certification can be useful to legitimize her irregular actions. In these cases, doing things a gem is not certified for can be risky. Getting and having a Certification is independent from actually having the skills need to do what the certification is in.

To acquire a Certification a gem must be connected to the Warpnet which can be commonly be accessed via a limb enhancer screen or terminal. Each Certification costs 1pp and a single gem can only have certifications in two of the three fields.
